Be conscious next time you’re behind your camera. Beyond what you see, what are you aware of when you look through the viewfinder? What’s important to you about the work you’re about to create?
Most wedding and portrait photographers pick up their cameras without being conscious of the core values at play in the work they’re about to do. The next time you have a shoot, add this stream of questions to your prep list and see how it changes your work: “What’s important to me about this assignment?” “What’s the value to me of these images?” Beyond what I expect to see, what do I want to be aware of when I’m looking through the viewfinder? “How do I want to feel when I’m working?”
Good questions are only the tip of the iceberg in life coaching.
