I was pretty moved by last week’s inquiry about how photography feeds my soul as compared to my ego. The question was on the tip of my consciousness all week, everywhere I went, everywhere I looked.
I followed my instinct to take the contents of my recent SWOT analysis for my photography business (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) and write every item down in one column of handwritten spreadsheet. Across from them, in one row, I had a cell each for feeding my soul, feeding my ego, and feeding my bank account. I looked around for the meeting places where my soul, ego, and bank account were fed the most satisfying diet by my strengths and opportunities. Pretty cool homework, if I do say so myself.
So, the question of the week is two-fold:
What would it take for you to take an honest-to-goodness inventory of your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, then notice how the various aspects feed you – or fail to? What support do you need to take advantage of the opportunities that you discover?
